OS continues to research and study the following topics directly related to LE training and operations:
Operational Studies pursues an aggressive tactical operations studies program. These studies range from first-hand experience, to accompanying tactical teams on actual operations, to studying de-briefs of both domestic and international terrorist and hostage rescue incidents. OS also makes an effort to stay current with the activities and methodologies of various criminal and terrorist groups through a number of official and open-source information and intelligence venues. This material is then analyzed, evaluated, and if relevant, incorporated into OS and STTU lectures and training.
On a T&E level, OS continues to test and evaluate a broad spectrum of tactical equipment including weapons systems, holsters, load bearing vests, packs, handguns, light systems, ammunition, body armor, goggles, helmets, communications, GPS navigational systems, training aids and tactical targets.
