For the past two decades, OS and STTU have had on-going military and LE sniper programs.

- Optical sight systems, scopes, range finders, and range cards
- Communications equipment and procedures
- Sniper integration into tactical operations
- Urban sniper operations in an insurgent environment
- High angle shooting techniques suited to urban and mountain operations
- Sniper performance in cold weather warfare
- Surveillance and close target reconnaissance
- Dedicated Defensive Marksmen (DDM) in support of high risk security operations
